Teaching at Colorado State University
My teaching philosophy is centered around creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages student-centered inquiry and critical thinking. I think of teaching as a cooperative activity in which knowledge generation is a dynamic process requiring participation by both the students and instructor. I am a strong believer in the power of inclusive education to transform classrooms into a space where every student has the potential to succeed and it is my role as an educator to facilitate their growth and development while creating an environment in which they are welcomed, valued, and affirmed. To achieve this, I integrate a variety of teaching methods that cater to diverse learning styles, including hands-on activities, group discussions, and technology-based projects. I also foster a growth mindset in my students, encouraging them to take risks, welcome challenges, and embrace the process of learning. My ultimate goal is to empower students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers, who are equipped to make a positive impact on the world.
